01The Role
Customers come to Tenera with decisions: which experience to ship, which audience to serve, or why a product change might succeed. The Deployment Strategist turns those questions into studies that lead to useful answers.
You will own the customer engagement from the first conversation through the decision that follows. You will learn the business, shape the study, and work with forward deployment engineers to deliver it. You will also write and deploy production code yourself, owning the implementation needed to turn a customer requirement into a working solution.
You should be comfortable presenting a recommendation and explaining its uncertainty in the same conversation. The goal is to help customers make better decisions with evidence they understand.
02What You'll Do
- Work directly with customers to identify the product decision they need to make, the alternatives they are considering, and the evidence that would change their mind.
- Design studies with clear hypotheses, relevant user segments, and success criteria tied to the customer's business.
- Gather and organize customer context, including prior research and product data. Identify missing evidence before it compromises a study.
- Write, test, and deploy production code for customer deployments, including integrations, data pipelines, and product improvements. Own changes through code review, release, and verification in production.
- Partner with forward deployment engineers on study setup and delivery. Keep the customer aligned on scope, assumptions, and timing.
- Interpret simulation results, challenge weak conclusions, and write recommendations that distinguish observed evidence from assumptions.
- Present findings directly to customers and follow through on the resulting decisions. Bring what you learn back to the product and research teams.
03What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional experience in product strategy, consulting, user research, analytics, technical deployment, or a comparable field, with experience owning customer work and responsibility for outcomes.
- Strong analytical judgment. You can turn an ambiguous business question into a study and explain the limits of its findings.
- Clear writing and confident presentation skills. You can lead a working session with product leaders and earn trust by understanding their business.
- Comfort working with product metrics, research evidence, and technical teammates. You can inspect an analysis and ask useful questions about how it was produced.
- The ability to manage several engagements, set expectations early, and keep work moving when inputs are incomplete.
- Demonstrated ability to write production-quality code and deploy it to production. You can work in an existing codebase, use Git and code review, test changes, monitor a release, and roll back when needed. This is required.
- A hands-on approach to AI tools while taking responsibility for the code you ship. You can work with APIs, databases, and data pipelines; experience running product experiments is a plus.
- Humble. You are quick to learn from customers, teammates, and evidence instead of defending your first answer.
- Low ego. You care more about the best idea winning than being personally right.
